For Recipients of Our Services
How do I qualify to receive help from the SVdP Exeter food pantry?
All of the details may be found here.
What documentation is required to register?
We require an official photo ID (usually a driver’s license) and proof of residency, which can be any official documentation that shows your name, address and a recent date. For example, this could include utility bills or letters from a government agency. After registering, you will not be required to show identification when you visit the pantry, although we periodically ask our aid recipients to show us their ID and/or proof of residency to ensure that their information is current.
Is there a limit to how often I can use the pantry?
We strive to assist everyone in need and allow the recipients of our services to visit once per week. However, this may vary based on our food supply and demand.
What types of food are available?
We offer a variety of food items, including fresh produce, meats, canned goods, grains, dairy and frozen foods. The selection may vary based on donations and availability.
Can I choose the food I receive?
Yes! When visiting our food pantry, you will interact directly with our volunteers, who will fill your bags with the food items that you select. Our produce and bread/pastry section is self-service, but volunteers must assist you with food in our other sections.
What should I bring when I come to the pantry?
Please bring reusable shopping bags, boxes or other containers to carry your groceries. After you have registered, you do not need to produce identification on each visit unless otherwise requested.
I can’t find any reusable bags. Can I still come to the pantry?
Although we ask that you bring reusable bags, you should never avoid coming to the pantry if you are in need. We have a limited amount of reusable bags that we will give you to keep and use for all future visits.
